In accordance with strategic objectives, Latvenergo and Elektrum brand are further expanding renewable energy production in the Baltics. In the Klaipėda region, Lithuania, three Elektrum Lietuva solar parks with a total capacity of almost 180 MW have commenced operations. Thus, new RES production portfolio of the Latvenergo in the Baltic States has reached 374 MW.
Latvenergo subsidiary Elektrum Lietuva has opened three new solar parks in the Klaipėda district with a total capacity of 176 MW. They are located on an area of more than 360 hectares and will be able to provide electricity to over 100,000 households per year. The planned volume of electricity production will reach 200,000 MWh. The new parks – 91 MW in Kiškėnai village, 78 MW in Dovilai eldership, and 7.15 MW in Smeltė – are another Latvenergo strategic investment in the energy independence of the Baltic region.
With the launch of the new parks, Latvenergo portfolio in the Baltic States now includes production at 22 solar parks (13 solar parks in Latvia, 6 in Lithuania, and 3 in Estonia), the renovated Ainaži wind park, and the wind park built in 2024 in the Akmenė district, which will soon be supplemented by high-capacity wind and solar power plants in Latvia and Lithuania, further strengthening the company’s position in renewable energy production in the region.
