The Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS has been approved

On July 14, the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS, which will include Viktorija Meikšāne, Inese Zīle, Edijs Šaicāns and Kristaps Ločmelis, was appointed at the Shareholder’s Meeting of Sadales tīkls AS.
At the first meeting of the Supervisory Board, Kristaps Ločmelis was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and Edijs Šaicāns was elected Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
The duty of Latvenergo AS as the holder of capital shares is to establish a Supervisory Board in Sadales tīkls AS, the capital company associated with it, in accordance with the Law On Governance of Capital Shares of a Public Person and Capital Companies. Four Supervisory Board members selected through a competition will work at the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS. The candidates for positions Supervisory Board members were selected and evaluated by the nomination commission by evaluating the candidates selected by the personnel selection company Amrop/Executive Search Baltic SIA.
The members of the Supervisory Board have competences, skills and experience necessary for long-term development of the company in the development and implementation the strategy and policies of the company, financial management and risk management, regulation matters, corporate governance, as well as understanding of business of Sadales tīkls AS and knowledge in the field of energy, as well as experience in the field of customer relations. The areas of competence of the Supervisory Board members are distributed: two dependent Supervisory Board members with competence in the field of operations of Sadales tīkls AS, one independent Supervisory Board member with competence in financial management and risk management, one independent Supervisory Board member with competence in customer relations management.
Independent Supervisory Board members
Viktorija Meikšāne has extensive experience in financial management, she previously occupied executive position at RB Rail and Baltcom, as well as worked as a Management Board member of the Latvian Guarantee Agency. Currently, Viktorija Meikšāne is the Baltic Operations Manager at Baltic Coffee Holding. She obtained a Master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Diplomacy at Tufts University, United States, and before that a Bachelor degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Inese Zīle started to accumulate her versatile experience in the field of customer relations as the head of Sigulda Branch and later the head of Old Riga Branch of SEB Unibanka, the Executive Director of the Sigulda City Council, continuing as the head of Corporate Customers Department at Citadele banka and is a member of the Management Board at ALTUM today. Inese obtained her Master’s degree in Management Science from the University of Latvia.
Dependent Supervisory Board members with competence in energy
Edijs Šaicāns has been handling energy market development and policy making matters for a long time, starting as the Manager of the Energy Market and Infrastructure Department of the Latvian Ministry of Economics, then deputy director of the department and now its director. In 2019, he was elected to the Supervisory Board of Latvenergo AS and was its deputy chairman. He obtained his Master’s degree in Heat Power Engineering and Heat Power Equipment from Riga Technical University.
Kristaps Ločmelis has gained profound knowledge of energy market regulation matters, while working at Latvenergo AS for a long time. Today Kristaps is the Regulatory Affairs Director at Latvenergo AS, as well as a member of the Supervisory Board and the chairman of the Supervisory Board at Liepājas enerģija SIA. He obtained a Master’s degree in Engineering and Management of Energy Enterprises from Riga Technical University, and a PhD from Riga Technical University on 1 July 2020.
