Edijs Šaicāns appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS


At the extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting of Sadales tīkls AS held on 9 June 2026, Edijs Šaicāns was elected as a member of the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS. He will serve for a five-year term commencing on 9 June 2026. Thus, the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS continues its work in a four-member composition: Viktorija Meikšāne (independent member of the Supervisory Board), Inese Zīle (independent member of the Supervisory Board), Edijs Šaicāns (dependent member of the Supervisory Board) and Kristaps Ločmelis (Chairman of the Supervisory Board and a dependent member of the Supervisory Board).

Edijs Šaicāns, as a dependent member of the Supervisory Board with expertise in the energy sector, was selected through an open competition. The selection and assessment of this Supervisory Board member was carried out by the nomination committee in cooperation with a professional partner: Talentor Latvia SIA.

Edijs Šaicāns has extensive experience in the development of energy markets and policy-making and has worked at the Ministry of Economics and in the private sector. Currently, Edijs Šaicāns is the Deputy State Secretary for External Economic Relations at the Ministry of Economics, the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Public Utilities Commission, and the Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS.

Sadales tīkls AS is the largest electricity distribution system operator in Latvia, operating independently and ensuring the supply of electricity to more than one million customer sites. Its services cover 99% of the country’s territory, and it maintains an electricity network throughout Latvia with a total length of approximately 92,000 kilometers. Latvenergo AS is the sole shareholder of Sadales tīkls AS.
