Today, on 6 November, the Supervisory Board of Latvenergo AS appointed Arnis Kurgs as temporary Member of the Management Board. He will start the work on 6 November and will perform these duties until the permanent composition of the Management Board is established. The Management Board of Latvenergo AS will continue to work in the following composition: Guntars Baļčūns as Chairman of the Management Board, Kaspars Cikmačs and Arnis Kurgs as Members of the Management Board. The selection of candidates for the permanent composition of the Management Board will start in the near future.

Arnis Kurgs holds a Master’s degree in law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia, and has also studied law at the Turība University. A. Kurgs has valuable work experience gained at Latvenergo AS since 1995. From 2006 to 2015 he was Member of the Management Board of Latvenergo AS and since 2015 he held the position of Chief Administrative Officer. A. Kurgs has also been Member of the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS and Augstsprieguma tīkls AS, currently he holds this position at Elektrum Eesti OU.

The new Member of the Management Board is appointed as Members of the Management Board Āris Žīgurs and Uldis Bariss resigned from Latvenergo Group.
