Latvenergo AS receives the highest sustainability rating

Latvenergo AS receives the Diamond rating of the Sustainability Index for the second year in a row. Receiving the highest possible rating has been facilitated by the implementation of many sustainable development activities, including effective governance, targeted involvement of stakeholders, corporate social responsibility activities, disclosure of non-financial information, green deal solutions for clients and implementation of a growth strategy.

To receive the Diamond rating, the company's management must explain its current contribution and future vision in various aspects of sustainability in an in-depth interview with the experts from the Institute for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. To qualify for the Diamond interview, organisations must have received a Platinum rating for at least five years and have a score of at least 90% in each of the five sections – strategy, market relations, work environment, environment and local community.

The Sustainability Index is a management tool developed by the Institute for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability in line with international standards to help organisations assess the sustainability of their operations and their level of corporate responsibility. This year, 120 Latvian companies, public institutions, municipalities and universities were assessed based on the Sustainability Index.
