Latvenergo Group annually implements projects contributing to development of science and education in energy, promoting engineering and technology professions and facilitating training of qualified specialists.
Latvenergo AS is providing support for organising the 3rd European Physics Olympiad to be held in Riga from 31 May to 4 June 2019. Teams from 25 to 30 countries are going to participate in the event. Members of the Academic Committee of the Olympiad, who are academics from the world’s leading universities, will also take part. The event will provide the representatives of all the participating countries with the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the Latvian academic environment, but also learn about the companies and achievements in the fields of physics and engineering, thus contributing to the international recognition of the Latvian engineering industry.
For several years, Latvenergo AS has provided support for the development of the Riga Technical University (RTU) Engineering High School and the improvement of the technical equipment of the Latvenergo creative laboratory at the RTU Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering.
Promoting the excellence of young people in exact sciences, Latvenergo AS supports the participation of the Latvian team in the International Physics Olympiad: in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 2017 and in Lisbon, Portugal in 2018 and in Telaliv, Israel in 2019.
